We’ve got a ton of pecan trees, and lately the kids are obsessed with picking pecans.
I find them all over the house, and in pockets.
Even Sami dog has got in on the action…who knew dogs eat pecans??
This is my favorite. I love these little purple flowers that pop up everywhere.

Now I just have to start shelling them and make some pecan pie…or at least try. I’ve never made pecan pie before…maybe for thursday…
Totally jealous that you have THAT many pecans…and for free!!! They are so expensive in the store.
I just made my first pecan pie last year, and it was a success! I followed the recipe at mommyskitchen.net and it came out perfectly! I've never had any of her recipes go wrong on me…you might want to check it out!

Oh my goodness! Pecans are so expensive – I just paid $10 for a pound of shelled pecans yesterday. You could sell those also. They are good for you – I always keep a bowl of mixed nuts in the shell out with a nutcracker.
Pecan pie is so easy, you should try! Oh, and my dog likes all nuts.
