DIY Fabric Covered Blocks with Angie of Little Inspiration

August 13, 2012 by April Nicole Fontenot 1 Comment

Hi Wildflower & Whimsy readers! I’m Angie and I blog over at Little Inspiration and I have a little project that I want to show you.

My toddler loves playing with wood blocks so I decided on making her some wood blocks covered in bold fabric colors. She absolutely loved them and I know your toddler will too.

All you need is the following:

  • 3 pieces of wood (Your choice of size) These particular ones are 6 x 1.57 inches – I bought a three pack at Micheal’s for 5.99 plus a 50% coupon. (Sanded & Finished)
  • Fabric Scraps or Remnants
  • Mod Podge
  • Scissors

First make sure to sand & finish the wood blocks. Measure & cut fabric, add mod podge to the wood, and apply fabric. Easy Peasy.

Pick fabric scraps that are bold in color and eye catching.

Add a little bow and they look very pretty on a gift box! Toddlers will sure love them.

I hope you liked this little project.

Thanks April, for having me.

April Nicole Fontenot

April was born and raised in south Louisiana where she still resides with her husband and their 3 children who she homeschools. Her hobbies include sleeping late, procrastinating, starting complicated DIY projects it takes her ages to complete, buying bikinis she doesn’t need, and finding ways to mildly annoy her husband (see first 4 hobbies). She’s overly opinionated, talks too much and too loud, and refuses to follow the status quo. Her one redeeming quality is she loves fiercely and with reckless abandon. She always fights for truth, and truly believes that the truth will set you free.

  • Im so in love with this weather I cannot wait
2 months ago by aprilnicolefontenot I'm so in love with this weather. I cannot wait until this cold wind is replaced with a warm one, but my grass turned green today and our fig trees is suddenly covered with buds - literally both of these happened overnight. I walked to the mailbox yesterday looking at both and thinking how much I couldn't wait for a little green to make its way through all the grey. Today did not disappoint...  #spring   #springisintheair   #onlylouisiana   #louisiana   #february   #green   #nature   #naturephotography

4 months ago by aprilnicolefontenot 1/365; Spending this 31° afternoon studying to get ready to lead The Purpose Project next week. A FB community dedicated to growing closer in our relationship with Christ, gaining a better understanding of our God-given purpose, and focusing our priorities in order to fulfill that purpose. On of my passions has always been photography, but like most things in life, I am easily frustrated when progress doesn't come at the pace I believe it should. I let fear of never being good enough take over and give up easily, so I thought why not give this photo a day idea
