I’m totally excited and honored to be part of this very talented ladies blog. Thanks, April for having me. Yeah, I’m totally stoked. Whoop. A little bit about me. I’m a wife, mother, daughter, Christ follower, photographer, graphic designer and crafting fool. Yep, this is me and my family. We are so blessed. Check out my craftiness here and if you local in Texas my photography and graphics here. Okay so now that we’ve met each other, let’s get crafting.
Okay so today I want to show you how to make a very cute and simple hair barrette that my daughter will not wear but looks great for pictures. Here’s the barrette we are going to make. Isn’t she just the cutest!
Start by making a fabric flower. If you don’t know how to, then follow these next few steps. If you do, then woo who for you. Skip down to step 6. Fold your fabric in half like this.
Make sure you twist your fabric every time you wrap.
Wrap and twist until you run out of fabric. Make sure you are twisting and wrapping, tightly. You don’t want your rose to fall apart. If you really want to secure it down, you can put a little dab of glue every so often to make sure it doesn’t fall apart. But you shouldn’t have any problems, if you wrap it tight enough. Now you have a pretty rose. Before you set your rose down, turn it over and dab a little glue on the end piece and attach it to the back or under part of your rose.
Put a dab of hot glue on the location you want your three little beads to go. It doesn’t take much and make sure the holes of the beads are pointing sideways so you can’t see them when they are clustered together.
