As many of you know I have been slowly working on decorating my house, and I’m starting with the family room because I absolutely hate the colors I choose when we first moved in! Finally, after three years, I have my fabric picked out, and I’m ready to get moving. I’ve already painted the walls, but I have lots of furniture that I want to paint in accent colors from the fabric I choose. That’s why I am so excited about Olympic Paint’s Color Clix App! I home school. I sew. I blog. I don’t have time to spend hours in the store picking out paint chips while my three kids argue over who’s going to drive the race car buggy!
The Color Clix app made it so simple! All I had to do was download the app to my smartphone, snap a pic of my fabric, and BAM! the app automatically gave me a color palette using the main colors in the picture!
And, if I want something other than the colors it chooses, I can tap anywhere in the pic and it will give me that specific color name along with the shades that go with it! Then, all I have to do is choose my favorite and save it to my projects. That means when I go to the store, all I have to do is pull up the project I’m working on and grab the paint chips I’ve already selected. No more bringing home a million paint chips only to discover that none of them work! Or worse, find one I adore, then when it’s time to buy the paint, I can’t find the paint chip or remember the color name. It’s all right there on my phone!
I am constantly inspired by colors from nature, fabric, sometimes even my favorite eye shadows! I love having a tool to help me not only capture my inspiration, but also find and record the perfect paint color where I’ll be able to quickly and easily retrieve it when needed! And if I’m looking for a little extra inspiration, I can also use the app to browse their designer color collections!
Oh! Did I mention you can also log in online and digitally paint your room?!? Awesome, right?!?! You can upload a picture of your actual room or simply use one of the sample rooms they have on their site! I often have a hard time visualizing from a paint chip so this makes it a lot easier for me to make a decision. And if your torn between two colors, they provide easy sharing options so you can email or share to facebook or twitter to ask your friends and family for their opinions!
What project are you working on that the Color Clix app could help you with?
